The Nova Scotia Forest Festival is a showcase of the many ways Nova Scotians connect to the Province’s forests for their livelihood, housing, recreation, food, heritage and spirituality.
In addition to showcasing how we connected to our forests in the past, we will highlight the importance they still hold for us today, and will continue to hold in the future. Participate in an axe-throwing competition, paddle a canoe, taste maple syrup, ride on an ATV, marvel at the weight of a 1950s chainsaw, enjoy nature walks and educational sessions on everything from wilderness survival and forest ecology to contemporary harvesting and manufacturing –as well as the quintessential Canadian experience of gathering around the campfire for stories, songs and s'mores.
Traditonal lumberjack meals will be served in the Cookhouse.
This is sure to be a fun and educational fall weekend that will allow visitors to appreciate all our forests have to offer!
Time: 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Fee: Free admission, donations welcome.
