A Grooms Folly: An Original Walking Theatre Production

"Harry thinks he's getting married, but the bride's Father thinks otherwise"


An original walking theatre production performed by the Eastern Shore Players. This comedy will take place in five different locations within the heritage village, and end with an audience interactive grand finale of pie and music.

Walking distances vary, with a maximum of 5 minutes between acts. Some seating available at each scene. If the weather is poor, the rain date will be Sunday, July 12 at 6:00 PM.

WWII Encampment

Members of the Atlantic Canadian World War Two Living History Association set up a two day encampment on the Heritage Village grounds. Dedicated to the authentic portrayal of the soldiers, sailors, air force personnel, and civilians of World War Two. The members, in period uniforms, will explain the equipment and role of soldiers during the Second World War. Displays feature tents, medic supplies, artillery, rations and home front items.

Women’s Heritage Celebration

This annual celebration of women’s work in the home and community will celebrate the art of rug hooking with an all-day hook-in on the Saturday and a weekend exhibit of traditional and contemporary hooked rugs. Visit the homestead to make pickles, knead bread, or taste rhubarb jelly. Kids will love cranking the rollers when we wash laundry. Check our website for a complete schedule of demonstrations, Sunday Tea Social and Ecumenical Church Service. An event for the whole family.

An old fashioned summer tea party in the Clam Factory using antique china and serving lots of sandwiches, squares and our famous butter tarts.

12th Annual Atlantic Canada Harmonica Festival

Spend the day with musicians who love this unique and versatile instrument. If you have ever thought about playing the harmonica, this is the place to start. If you played in the past and it’s now gathering dust, we’ll inspire you to start again. And if you’re a regular player, you’ll be happy to jam or share a tune with other professional and amateur performers.

This is a relaxing and intimate festival, held on the grounds and inside the Heritage Village historic buildings.

“Inspired by Music” Heritage Dinner & Musique Royale Concert

Back by popular demand, a Musique Royale Concert in the historic Memory Lane church, followed by a lamplit dinner in the Cookhouse will feature classical music paired with classic dishes inspired by the musical repertoire.

This year we are pleased to welcome Rhapsody Quintet.
Rhapsody performs original arrangements of beautiful melodies from eras past and present, including jazz, klezmer, tangos, movies and musicals.
They arrange and adapt orchestral and piano music to suit their unique instrumentation, (violin, clarinet, cello, piano and double bass), often working with local arrangers.

The members are:

Halifax Chef, Tarek Koste of the award winning Tarek's Cafe, will create a 4 course dinner inspired by the repertoire of Rhapsody Quintet, combining Middle Eastern flavours with European classics.

Harvest Celebration Dinner

A lamp-lit three-course dinner celebrating the harvest from the Memory Lane Village garden. Menu to be announced. By reservation only. Cash bar opens at 6:30 and dinner served at 7:00. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated with advance notice.

An authentic 1940s Christmas dinner served by lamplight in our traditionally decorated Cookhouse. No turkey!
Reserve by August 30th to avoid disappointment.
