11th Annual Atlantic Canada Harmonica Festival

Spend the day with musicians who love this unique and versatile instrument. If you have ever thought about playing the harmonica, this is the place to start. If you played in the past and it’s now gathering dust, we’ll inspire you to start again. And if you’re a regular player, you’ll be happy to jam or share a tune with other professional and amateur performers.

This is a relaxing and intimate festival, held on the grounds and inside the Heritage Village historic buildings.

The festival ends with a two hour showcase concert featuring harmonica players from all musical genres, from the Isle of Skye to the Mississippi Delta.

Musique Royale Concert & Dinner

We are excited to bring soprano Suzanne Rigden to Memory Lane for our 4th Musique Royale Concert and Dinner to Memory Lane.

Suzanne Rigden, originally from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia grew up singing folk songs on the hearth of the family fireplace. Little did she know that it would turn into her profession and lifelong passion. Currently residing in Montreal, Suzanne has traveled to many different countries to perform including China, Estonia, Czech Republic, Italy, Austria, Israel, France, Germany, England, and from coast to coast in Canada and the United States.

She completed a Bachelors degree in Vocal Performance at Memorial University and a Masters in Opera Performance at University of British Columbia. After this she was invited perform as a young artist with the Montreal Opera from 2009-2011. Since then Suzanne has spent two summers in San Francisco with the prestigious Merola Opera Center at San Francisco Opera singing lead roles, as well as making her mark on the international stage with her “remarkable gift for stratospheric coloratura” and witty "comic genius." She recently shone in the roles of Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos with Pacific Opera Victoria and Queen of the Night in La Flûte enchantée with Festiva lOpéra de Ste-Eustache. The critics were unanimous in praising her magical performance. "Suzanne Rigden, pert and personable as the worldly flirt Zerbinetta, has a gleaming, cleanly articulate coloratura sound, and she nails her huge, dazzlingly virtuosic recitative and aria, which ranges up to high E."

Musique Royale, now in its 29th season, is cross-province festival that brings performances of early and traditional music to settings of historic and cultural significance in communities throughout Nova Scotia.

The Clam Harbour United Church provides an unforgettable venue for the Musique Royale concerts. This simple church (seating is limited to 90) built in 1891 features superb acoustics in an intimate setting. However we do recommend that you bring a cushion for the "puritan pews".

We will have great overnight packages available, check our gift shop closer to the date for details and to order tickets.
